Verification in Progress

K'NEX has no products listed right now. The evidence on file doesn't reach the 70% American Score, often because a brand makes some lines in the US and imports others. Each product is scored on its own, so a US-made line can still be listed later.

Our Research Notes

Building toy sets manufactured in Hatfield, PA since 1992. Website states Made in USA on domestic-produced sets. claim-partial (mild): Brand copy on the 70 Model, Power & Play, Budding Builders and 25th Anniversary Case listings states rods and connectors are made in Hatfield, PA; the 70 Model listing says all parts. The US claim is scoped to rods/connectors, so motors, wheels and cases in motorized/case sets carry no origin claim (Buy American Campaign makes the same reading). Adventure Wheels (B00I2UZXZW) and 40 Model (B07PQTDGWR) listings carry no origin line but no Imported line either; both are classic rod-and-connector sets, kept on brand-level evidence. basicfun.com (owner, Basic Fun!) gives no origin statement; knexco.com (contact 2990 Bergey Road, Hatfield, PA) says 'Our core rods and connectors are made in the USA' but I could not confirm it is the owner-operated domain, so no website change. Note: B06Y4BC95L live title is now 'KID K'NEX - Budding Builders Set - 100 Pieces', not Oodles of Pals 116-piece (name drift, not an origin issue). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HROBJXY "K'NEX rods and connectors are responsibly made in America at a landfill-free, zero-waste green manufacturing facility in Hatfield ... All parts are proudly made in the USA using responsible manufacturing techniques in Hatfield, Pennsylvania."

K'NEX building sets use rods and connectors molded in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. The brand is owned by Basic Fun, and motors, wheels and cases in some sets carry no US origin claim.

Rods and connectors from Hatfield

K'NEX's brand copy on its set listings says: "K'NEX rods and connectors are responsibly made in America at a landfill-free, zero-waste green manufacturing facility in Hatfield," Pennsylvania. The 70 Model listing goes further and says all of its parts are made in the USA in Hatfield. A CBS News report on the Rodon Group, the Hatfield molder, names K'NEX among the billions of plastic parts it produces each year.

The classic rod-and-connector sets, such as the 40, 70 and 100 Model building sets, fit that description most directly.

Where the claim stops

The US claim is about rods and connectors. Motorized sets like Power and Play and case sets like the 25th Anniversary Ultimate Builder's Case include motors, wheels and storage cases that carry no origin statement. The Adventure Wheels and 40 Model listings say nothing about origin either way.

K'NEX's old website now redirects to its owner, Basic Fun, which gives no manufacturing statement. Read the box for a Made in USA mark, and expect it to apply to the plastic building pieces.
