Kolcraft Enterprises was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1946 by the Kolb family as a small manufacturer of cribs and juvenile furniture. The company has remained family-owned through four generations — an unusual feat in an industry that has seen nearly all domestic competitors either shut down or move production overseas.
Kolcraft made the strategic decision to maintain American manufacturing while investing in design and safety, staying at the forefront of changing CPSC safety standards for cribs, play yards, and strollers. Today Kolcraft is one of the few remaining American manufacturers of baby furniture at scale.
