About American Natural Premium
American Natural Premium is a Grafton, Wisconsin family company that cooks its dry dog food and Woof-Itz treats in small batches in Wisconsin. Its product pages read "Made in Wisconsin."
A kennel on the Milwaukee River
Jennifer Burlo and Gene Large started American Natural Premium in 1998. They already ran Riverview kennel on the Milwaukee River in rural Wisconsin and did not like the dog foods on offer, which they found either overpriced or full of cheap ingredients. ANP is still family owned and lists its home as Grafton, Wisconsin.
The About page says the food is "Cooked in Wisconsin, in small batches, by people who live where it is made." The company sells mainly through independent pet stores, which it puts at 668 shops in 26 states.
The origin line on each recipe page
The Endurance Plus, Sensitive Care and Grain-Free Ocean Fish Meal and Potato pages each carry the line "Made in Wisconsin." Endurance Plus is the high-performance recipe for hard-working dogs. Sensitive Care is the limited-ingredient recipe, and the grain-free fish recipe has no grain and no chicken.
The range also includes the Market Fresh and Core Line dry foods, freeze-dried raw meals and Woof-Itz treats. ANP does not say where every ingredient is grown or caught, though it calls out USA-sourced pork in its pork recipe.
