From the brand's website
We re-read sawyer.com on Oct 10, 2026 and did not find an explicit statement about where its products are made. This page relies on the other evidence below.Store listings

We scan news for factory closures, offshoring and ownership changes. Last scan Sep 27, 2026: no change found.
These checks are run by our software on a schedule: brand websites are re-read about every three weeks, store listings weekly, and news is scanned monthly. Every flag is checked against its original source before anything on this page changes. How the American Score works.

Filters and repellents from Safety Harbor
Sawyer dates the company to 1984. Its timeline lists 1991 as the year permethrin repellent became widely available to consumers, and 2005 as the year it introduced its own hollow fiber membrane filter.
The Squeeze filter uses a 0.1 micron absolute hollow fiber membrane. Sawyer says every Squeeze unit is individually tested three times to its performance standards before it ships. The Mini and Micro Squeeze filters use the same membrane in smaller housings. The repellent line covers permethrin for treating clothing and gear, a permethrin spray for dogs, a 20% picaridin lotion and spray, and a controlled-release DEET lotion.
What Sawyer does and doesn't say about origin
Sawyer is based in Safety Harbor, Florida, and ships all orders from there. The Sawyer pages we read, including the Squeeze filter page, make no Made in USA claim, and the product listings for its filters and repellents do not state where they are made.
The case for US manufacture rests on where the company is based, not on a label. If US manufacture matters to you, check the package or ask Sawyer about the exact item before buying.
