Albert Swanson's square
Albert J. Swanson, a carpenter who came to Chicago from Iowa in 1920, developed the Speed Square by 1925. It combines a try square, miter square, saw guide, line scriber and protractor in one aluminum casting. Jim and Craig Allemand bought the company in 2003.
