About Buffalo Games
Buffalo Games has manufactured jigsaw puzzles in Buffalo, New York since 1986, making every puzzle from 100% recycled board with soy-based inks in the USA.
Made in Buffalo Since 1986
Buffalo Games was founded in 1986 in Buffalo, New York, and has manufactured its jigsaw puzzles domestically since the first day of operation. Every puzzle that leaves the Buffalo facility is made from 100% recycled puzzle board — the post-consumer paperboard that forms the substrate of each piece — and printed with soy-based inks rather than petroleum-based alternatives. The commitment to recycled materials and domestic manufacturing has been consistent across the company's four decades of operation.
Buffalo, NY was once a major American manufacturing center, and Buffalo Games is one of the companies that has sustained that tradition. The city's puzzle-making heritage and the company's domestic production model make Buffalo Games a particularly authentic choice for buyers who value both American manufacturing and environmentally responsible materials.
The Puzzle Craft
Buffalo Games produces jigsaw puzzles ranging from 300 pieces (suitable for younger puzzlers) to 2,000-piece challenges for experienced adult puzzlers. The 1,000-piece format is their core product — the standard adult jigsaw puzzle size that offers several hours of assembly and a finished image worth framing. Buffalo Games uses a random assortment die cut system that ensures no two pieces in a puzzle are identical in shape, which eliminates the 'corner piece by luck' problem common in puzzles with repetitive cut patterns.
The artwork on Buffalo Games puzzles skews toward landscapes, wildlife, and Americana themes — imagery that complements the company's New York State origins. The Darrell Bush wildlife series, panoramic cityscape puzzles, and seasonal scenes are among the most consistently reviewed products in their catalog.
