Yes

DeFeet knits its socks in North Carolina. Its site says DeFeet "has been proudly crafting premium cycling socks and performance gear in North Carolina since 1992," and lists its address as 371 I-40 Access Rd, Hildebran, NC. Its sock pages carry the line "Fiber Content / USA-sourced / USA-made" and say products are "sustainably manufactured within a local supply chain."

The wool socks go a step further: DeFeet says "Our wool goods are made from USA-grown Merino, traveling from Oregon to the Carolinas for processing and knitting." The one exception we found is a partner item: the short-sleeve cycling jersey DeFeet sells is described as made by MsTina in Italy. DeFeet's own socks, arm warmers, knee warmers and hats are the US-made core.

About DeFeet

DeFeet knits cycling and running socks at its mill on the I-40 access road in Hildebran, North Carolina, where Shane Cooper started the company in 1992.

The Aireator, inside out

Shane Cooper founded DeFeet in 1992. His first sock, the Aireator, put the nylon layer on the outside for wear and the softer fiber against the foot, the reverse of how most socks were built. It is still the core of the line, sold in 3-, 5- and 6-inch cuffs.

The company calls its Hildebran plant a western North Carolina "microsockery" and knits in small batches there. Its sock pages read "USA-sourced / USA-made" under fiber content.

Oregon merino, Carolina knitting

The Woolie Boolie and Wooleator wool socks use US-grown merino. DeFeet says the wool travels from Oregon to the Carolinas for processing and knitting. Some synthetic socks use Repreve, a recycled fiber made in North Carolina from plastic bottles.

The one imported item we found on DeFeet's site is a short-sleeve cycling jersey made by MsTina in Italy. The socks, arm warmers, knee warmers and hats are DeFeet's own US-made goods, and all the socks we list are from that group.
