Fusion Jerky was founded by KaiYen Mai, who was born into a family with nearly 50 years of tradition making Asian-style jerky. Growing up in the Bay Area, she set out to fuse American flavors with the family's traditional techniques to create all-natural, gluten-free, high-protein jerky.
The idea for Fusion Jerky came to her while summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, when she recognized the nutritional value protein-rich jerky provided on the trail. Fusion Jerky launched in 2014 as one of the first brands to feature an all-natural chicken jerky.
Made in Scottsbluff, Nebraska
To control quality at every step, KaiYen Mai built her own state-of-the-art processing facility in the rural town of Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 2012, a USDA-inspected manufacturing plant.
The Scottsbluff facility ensures every step of the jerky process meets the brand's standards for taste, texture, and ingredient quality, and the plant also has the capacity to produce private label jerky for other companies.
