About Kleynimals
Kleynimals makes the original stainless steel baby toy keys and teethers in the USA, crafted by hand from food-safe 18/10 stainless steel since 2010 — heirloom-quality baby products designed by a mom who wanted safe, non-toxic alternatives for her own children.
Heritage & History
Kleynimals was founded in 2010 by Kirsten Chapman, a mother who wanted to give her baby safe, non-toxic alternatives to the plastic and rubber toys that dominated the infant market. Her solution was stainless steel — the same material used in commercial kitchens and medical equipment, chosen for its safety, durability, and complete freedom from BPA, phthalates, and the harmful chemicals found in many plastics.
The original Kleynimals Clean Key Animals — stainless steel toy keys with adorable animal faces — launched in 2010 as the first product of their kind in the American market. The concept resonated immediately with safety-conscious parents who appreciated that the keys would never leach chemicals, could be sterilized in the dishwasher, and would last long enough to become a family heirloom. The business has grown from a single product into a small line of stainless steel baby essentials.
Made in Upstate New York
Kleynimals products are manufactured at Sherrill Manufacturing in Sherrill, New York — a facility with deep roots in American stainless steel production. The manufacturing process uses 18/10 stainless steel (the same grade used in quality kitchen cutlery), precision-machined and polished to eliminate any sharp edges while maintaining the visual detail that makes each animal face distinctive.
The product line now includes the original Clean Key Animals toy keys, Jangles teething bracelets and rattles, and 3-piece baby flatware sets — all made from 100% stainless steel in the USA. Every product is dishwasher safe, FDA-compliant, non-toxic, BPA-free, and designed to outlast multiple children. For parents who prioritize material safety and American manufacturing, Kleynimals offers one of the clearest examples of a domestic baby product with verifiable safety credentials.
