Heritage & History
OurPets Company is headquartered and manufactures products in Brecksville, Ohio, developing pet toys, food dispensing devices, and cat enrichment products for the American pet market. The company has built its reputation on products that address behavioral and enrichment needs for companion animals — the IQ Treat Ball, for instance, was developed as a response to the boredom and destructive behavior that results from keeping intelligent dogs in environments without mental stimulation.
Brecksville, Ohio's manufacturing base has supported OurPets' production of durable rubber toys, stainless steel bowls, and electronic cat toys. The company's decision to manufacture in Ohio rather than source overseas reflects a commitment to quality control and the proximity of manufacturing to product development that allows faster iteration.
Made in Brecksville, Ohio
OurPets produces its core product lines at the Brecksville facility using materials selected for pet safety: natural rubber for chew toys, 18/8 food-grade stainless steel for bowls, and non-toxic plastics for dispensing toys. The IQ Treat Ball's adjustable difficulty mechanism — a slot that can be narrowed or widened to change how easily treats fall out — requires precise plastic molding that maintains the adjustment across the product's use life.
The catnip used in OurPets products is sourced from American farms, providing a domestic supply chain for the active ingredient in cat enrichment products. American-grown catnip has a reputation for potency compared to some imported sources, which affects the enrichment value of the products that depend on it.
