Where is Pyrex made?
Yes for most glass bakeware and storage, but not for every Pyrex product. Pyrex's own store marks its Sculpted Tinted bakeware and bowls, Simply Store glass containers and a FreshLock set "Made in the U.S." or "Made in the USA". The live listings for its clear 2-, 3- and 4-quart baking dishes, loaf dishes and 2-cup measuring cup also state Made in USA. Our records place the glass plant in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, but the brand's pages name no factory, and we are re-checking that location.

Heritage & History
Pyrex was born from a practical experiment by Bessie Littleton in 1913. Her husband Jesse, a physicist at Corning Glass Works in Corning, New York, brought home a sawed-off battery jar made from Corning's new borosilicate glass. Bessie baked a sponge cake in it and found it cooked more evenly than her metal pan. By 1915, Corning had commercialized the concept and Pyrex glass bakeware entered American kitchens.
For decades, Pyrex was synonymous with borosilicate glass — a formulation that handles thermal shock far better than standard glass. The brand passed through several corporate owners over the century, and consumer-grade Pyrex sold in the United States today is made from tempered soda-lime glass, while laboratory Pyrex retains the original borosilicate formula.

Consumer Pyrex products — the measuring cups, baking dishes, and storage containers found in millions of American homes — are manufactured domestically at facilities operated by Corelle Brands in the United States. The Charleroi, Pennsylvania glass plant has been a cornerstone of Pyrex production for generations.
