About Turtleback
Turtleback has manufactured premium leather and heavy-duty phone cases, holsters, and accessories in Sylmar, California since 2005, producing American-made cases for iPhones and Android devices that combine genuine leather craftsmanship with the protective function working professionals require.
Heritage & History
Turtleback was founded in 2005 in Sylmar, California, at a time when the phone case industry was consolidating around mass-produced plastic and silicone cases manufactured overseas at the lowest possible cost. Turtleback chose a different path: genuine leather construction, American manufacturing, and a design focus on the working professional who needs both protection and a polished appearance.
The company's holster-style cases reflect law enforcement and field worker input — the rotating belt clip, the button-flap closure, the genuine leather construction — all chosen for durability under daily working conditions rather than fashion-season appeal. Two decades later, Turtleback remains in Sylmar, still making cases by hand in the United States.
Made in Sylmar, California
Every Turtleback case is manufactured at the Sylmar, California facility. The leather phone cases feature genuine cowhide leather with hand-stitched edges, a rotating belt clip rated for daily use, and a magnetic closure that protects the screen without requiring the manual effort of a button. Cases are custom-fitted to specific iPhone and Android models, with precise cutouts for all ports and cameras.
The nylon holster cases provide weather-resistant protection for outdoor workers, utility professionals, and anyone who needs their phone to survive a rough working environment. The basketweave leather pattern on the executive cases provides grip and a distinctive texture that differentiates the premium Turtleback line. All products are made in California, covered by Turtleback's warranty, and designed to outlast the typical consumer phone case by years.
