About Wabash Valley Farms
Wabash Valley Farms is the family company in Monon, Indiana, behind the Whirley-Pop stovetop popcorn popper. Its site says the poppers are assembled in the USA; it does not say where the parts are made.
Mike Williams and the floating stir rod
Mike Williams became a farmer and owner of Wabash Valley Farms in 1974, in White County, which the company calls the top popcorn-producing county in Indiana. He grew popcorn, and the company says some of it was sold to Orville Redenbacher.
His popper used a stirring rod raised above the bottom of the pan instead of one that scraped along it, so kernels of every size heated evenly. He was granted a patent in 1980, and a few years later Williams-Sonoma agreed to carry the Whirley-Pop in its catalog. His daughter, Dani Paluchniak, now owns and runs the business.
Assembled, not stated as made
The company's site carries one origin statement, the banner "Assembled in the USA," and gives its address as 6323 N 150 E in Monon. Neither the About page nor the FAQ says where the pots, gears or handles are produced, and the listings we checked carry no origin line. Read a Whirley-Pop as a popper assembled in Indiana by the family that invented it.
The range includes the original aluminum popper, a stainless steel version for induction cooktops, an 8-quart model, and Wabash Valley Farms kernels and seasonings.

USA VerifiedFrequently Asked Questions
Is Wabash Valley Farms made in the USA?
Partly. Wabash Valley Farms makes its core lines in the United States, in Monon, IN, and some of its products are made elsewhere. Wabash Valley Farms manufactures Whirley-Pop stovetop popcorn poppers in Monon, Indiana. Products explicitly labeled Made in USA. Patented design with decades of American production. claim-partial (moderate): The only origin statement on the brand's site is the sitewide banner 'ASSEMBLED IN THE USA' (Monon, IN; 'We are located in Monon, Indiana, in the heart of popcorn country'). FAQ (address 6323 N 150 E, Monon, IN 47959) and About pages state nothing about where poppers are made or popcorn is grown. None of the five Amazon listings has an origin line. So US assembly is supported, US manufacture (and parts origin) is not; our 'made in Monon, Indiana' descriptions overclaim and should read 'assembled in Monon, Indiana'. whirleypopshop.com returned Cloudflare 520 to curl_cffi; read via WebFetch. https://www.whirleypopshop.com/ "25 YEAR WARRANTY --- ASSEMBLED IN THE USA --- MID-WEST FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED"
