One glass plant in Lancaster since 1905
Anchor Hocking fired up its first glass plant in Lancaster, Ohio in 1905, and its own history page says the glass is still "melted, poured, sculpted, cut, cleaned, and perfected" there. The site carries an "American Owned and Made" badge.
The company owns the brand but no longer owns the building. In a sale reported by Glass International, the Lancaster facility was sold and leased back to Anchor Hocking on a 25-year lease, so production stays put.
In July 2025 Anchor Hocking announced up to $70 million of investment in its US operations. The center of it is a third furnace at Lancaster, expected to run in the first half of 2026, plus work at sites in Corning and Elmira, New York and Byhalia, Mississippi.
