Bennett Glazer's diaries
Bennett Glazer founded Graphic Image in 1977. He had been the first design director at the Franklin Library, which made collectible leather-bound editions of classic books, and the diaries he designed that year have changed little since.
The company says it spent the 1980s "building a factory and learning to make the product ourselves," after stores including Barneys, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman began ordering their own signature leathers. It has made Tiffany blue leather goods with Tiffany & Co. since 1981, and by 2010 it described its factory as the largest maker of luxury leather products in the US, including its own GiGi New York handbags. Special edition books now lead the business.
