After a period of corporate ownership, Bob Moog reacquired the Moog trademark in 2002 and re-established manufacturing in Asheville, North Carolina, where the company has remained ever since. When Bob Moog passed away in 2005, the Asheville team carried forward his philosophy: that analog electronics, assembled by skilled hands, produce a musical warmth and character that digital approximations cannot replicate. Today Moog Music is employee-owned, with every synthesizer still assembled by hand at the Asheville factory.

Every Moog synthesizer — from the Minimoog Model D to the Grandmother, DFAM, Subharmonicon, and Mother-32 — is hand-assembled at the Asheville, North Carolina factory.
