Heritage & History
WaterHog doormats have been manufactured since 1986, marketed on the brand's own site as 'America's Top Doormat Since 1986.' The mats use a patented bi-level construction: a top layer that scrapes debris and moisture from shoes, and a lower layer that traps and contains it.
WaterHog is produced by a Georgia-based matting manufacturer that makes its own StormWeb fabric and ForgeFlex rubber backing in-house, and sells doormats, runners, stair treads, boot trays, and pet mats directly and through retailers.
Made in Georgia
WaterHog states its mats are made in Georgia, with its ForgeFlex rubber backing manufactured in the company's own rubber plants. The company is based at 1729 S. Davis Road in LaGrange, Georgia.
The company describes keeping production domestic and vertically integrated — from fiber mixing and fabric formation through rubber backing, molding, and final cutting — as central to building a mat designed to outlast imported alternatives.
