About Griot's Garage
Griot's Garage has made professional-grade car care products in Tacoma, Washington since 1990, producing car wash soaps, polishes, and waxes used by automotive enthusiasts and professional detailers.
Tacoma's Professional Car Care Brand
Griot's Garage was founded in Tacoma, Washington in 1990 by Tim Suddard, an automotive enthusiast who wanted professional-quality car care products available to individual car owners. The company started as a mail-order catalog business and grew into a brand used by automotive enthusiasts, concours competitors, and professional detailers who need reliable, consistent results.
The Tacoma facility is where Griot's Garage formulates and produces its car wash soaps, paint polishes, waxes, and interior cleaners. American production allows the company to maintain quality control over every formulation and respond to performance feedback from professional users — a feedback loop that shapes product development.
Professional Chemistry, Consumer Access
Griot's Garage built its reputation by bringing professional-grade chemistry to the enthusiast market. The Brilliant Finish Car Wash uses a pH-balanced formula that cleans thoroughly without stripping wax or sealants — a formulation detail that matters to owners who apply paint protection and want it to last. The Best of Show Wax uses high-carnauba content for the depth of shine that concours competitors require.
For buyers who care about the quality of their car's finish, Griot's Garage products perform at a level most consumer-market alternatives don't reach. The Washington production and direct-to-consumer distribution model keeps the brand accountable to the enthusiast community that built it.
