About Prohoe
Prohoe Manufacturing hand-forges Rogue Hoe garden tools in Munden, Kansas from recycled agricultural disc blades, creating American-made hoes with unmatched edge retention and a lifetime guarantee.
Heritage & History
Prohoe Manufacturing was founded in 1990 as a family-owned business in Munden, Kansas, built around a single insight: the best garden hoe blades come from recycled agricultural disc blades. These discs — the blades used in farm plows — are made from high-grade tempered steel designed to slice through tough soil thousands of times per season without dulling. Prohoe's founders recognized that the same properties that made disc blades excellent for farming would make them outstanding for gardening.
Each Rogue Hoe blade is individually hand-forged in Munden from a recycled agricultural disc. The result is a hoe head with exceptional hardness and edge retention — it holds a sharp edge far longer than conventional garden hoes, and can be resharpened indefinitely. The company backs every tool with a lifetime guarantee, confident that each hoe will outlast its owner.
Made in Munden, Kansas
Every Prohoe Rogue Hoe is made by hand in Munden, Kansas. The forging process begins with a recycled agricultural disc blade that is cut, shaped, and heat-treated to produce the characteristic curved hoe head. Ash wood handles are fitted and secured to create a balanced, comfortable tool that allows gardeners to work all day without fatigue.
Prohoe offers several hoe configurations: the 5.5-inch model for tight rows and raised beds, the 5.75-inch model for general-purpose cultivating, the 7-inch heavy-duty model for tough soil and large garden beds, and the 65VW versatile model designed to function as weeder, cultivator, furrow-maker, and soil scraper in one tool. All models carry the same lifetime guarantee and all are forged in Kansas.
