Tiger Tail was founded in 2006 by inventor and former athlete Spring Faussett, who crossed a rolling pin with a foam roller and built her first prototype in her garage with $250 of supplies. She made the first 20,000 Tiger Tail rollers herself, one by one, before hiring a manufacturing team in the US to keep up with demand.
The company describes itself as women-owned and as the first to create and market the hand-held foam roller. Its orange-and-black Original 18-inch foam roller massage stick is used in professional training rooms, and the line now includes foam rollers, massage balls, stretching tools and massage guns.
