Not every Wald product carries that line. The basket liners and insulated bags, ROK straps and training wheels in Wald's store give no country of origin. Wald's own history also says offshore bicycle and parts makers changed its business, and that it now makes parts for automotive and appliance manufacturers as well. Wald's site is waldsports.com; the wald.com address is a parked domain for sale.

About Wald
Wald makes steel bicycle baskets in Maysville, Kentucky, where the company has been since 1924. Its basket pages read "Made in U.S.A. (Maysville, KY)"; liners, bags and straps carry no origin line.
Sheboygan to the Ohio River
Wald dates itself to 1905 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where two brothers, Ewald and Herman, had their first hit with a bicycle tire repair tool. In 1924 they moved the Wald Cycle Company to Maysville, Kentucky, on the Ohio River.
The Maysville works grew into a 300,000-square-foot complex making baskets, training wheels, kickstands, racks, handlebars, fenders and pedals, millions of parts a year for Schwinn, Huffy, Murray and Roadmaster. During World War II it made munitions and received the Armed Forces "E" Award. Offshore bicycle and parts makers later took much of that business, and Wald diversified into parts for Honda, Chrysler, Ford and GM.
Which Wald products say Maysville
Every steel basket page in Wald's store carries the line "Made in U.S.A. (Maysville, KY)." That includes the 1372 and 1392 front baskets, the 133 and 3133 quick-release baskets, the 157 Giant Delivery Basket and the 582 rear folding basket. The 582 and 1372 we list are on that list. The 137 Giant grocery basket no longer appears in Wald's own store, so check its listing for the origin line.
The soft goods are different. Wald's basket liners, insulated bags, ROK straps and training wheels give no country of origin, so treat them as unconfirmed. Wald's site is waldsports.com; wald.com is an unrelated parked domain.
